Sea King ZE369
Sister to XZ589 — a real RAF Sea King for up to four, on the water at Scarborough.
ZE369 is a real RAF Search & Rescue Sea King and a truly memorable place to stay — sister airframe to XZ589, with exactly the same layout.
It's one open-plan space inside: a double bed at the tail, a set of bunk beds, a seating area and a small kitchenette, plus a dining area for two in the original cockpit. Outside there's a picnic bench for four and a gravelled area of your own.
This is a basic glamping experience — no bedding or towels are provided, and while there's heating inside, there's no hot water in the airframe (hot showers are about 25 metres away on the campsite), so pack accordingly. You'll find lights and USB charging sockets inside and a drinking-water tap outside. Showers, toilets and a pot-wash area are on the campsite nearby.
What makes Sea King ZE369 special
The original cockpit, kept just as the crew left it — dials, switches and all — now a one-of-a-kind dining nook for two.

“Our two kids have told literally everyone they slept in a helicopter. Loads of room and a brilliant spot by the water.”
